  • Freezing Or Lagging

To NFPS I have read one of your post today saying your not getting any freezing !! for me all the HD channels are freezing after 8AM-10PM on Mag,Avov and Android and for the 1st time last night i went sleep and left the box on and when i got up it was still working so i think it better to bring back the 3Hr time out to stop some load on the servers, any how i would like to see you upload a 10min video on your HD channels showing right now at peak time, that is the only thing that would make be put my hold network down and try to fix things on my end Thanks.

As mentioned in the post you saw, if there were an issue at server side all users are affected not a few ones. The freezing or lag are isolated issues that might have many causes and most of them are at client side, as providers we use premium bandwidth with redundant peers and our servers / network are able to upload 8 times what we do right now but at client side it is another story with many things that can go wrong for example:
    • Most clients doesn't know or haven't tried configuring QoS in their network to prioritize streaming traffic over any other network traffic.
    • There maybe some malwares eating their bandwidth.
    • Bad wiring or wifi installation. (Mine is wired directly to the modem)
    • ISP overloaded on peak hours.
    • Boxes with slow processors to decode the stream as fast as it comes in.
    • and much more

Regarding uploading a video i will see how to do it in the future, tried recording CNN USA HD for 5 mins and ended up with 700+MB video.

      Excellent points to look into.
Priorities that I suggest first and always is that the equipment being used is up to the task of handling the HD Streams.

Sorry, but the older MAG's just cant keep up.\
      Invest $50 - $100 in a QuadCore, 2Gb Android STB, or a Laptop w/HDMI o/p.

Then perform an Internet Speed Test during peak hours, to see exactly what Bandwidth your ISP is providing you.

The numbers advertised to you for your Internet package, are maximum numbers, and not "guaranteed minimums". All ISP's list a "Minimum" that they have to supply, and the minimums are usually well below the bandwidth required for HS streaming content.
