  • IPTVXtra2 LiveTV Player Problem (Android Platform)

    Problem caused by change on Server Cloudflare software.
    The only temporary fix I can provide is if Android users have installed the free version of MX Player, as an external player.

    Normally the playercorefactory file I provide with IPTVXtra, only enables MX Player for Video (VOD) items, and PVR streams use Kodi's default player.
    *Since this problem is only related to the Kodi communication for its internal players, I have modified the playercorefactory.xml file to always use the external MX Player.

    If you don't have MX Player,(Free Version) install it from your preferred source.

    Download and copy the playercorefactory file from the link below, to your userdata Directory.
    Code:
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/grryer86n58rg1e/playercorefactory.xml/file

    Does anything else need to be changed? Except adding in this line?

    <rule protocols="smb" player="MXPlayerFree" />
    <rule dvdimage="true" player="MXPlayerFree"/>
    <rule protocols="rtmp" player="MXPlayerFree"/>
    <rule protocols="rtsp" player="MXPlayerFree" />
    <rule protocols="sop" player="MXPlayerFree" />
    <rule internetstream="true" player="MXPlayerFree" />
    <rule video="true" player="MXPlayerFree"/><!-- Default for anything else not listed -->

          Yes, this will fix the problem mentioned above.
          FireTV devices require a few workarounds to facilitate installing a 3rd party app, since it is not approved and therefore, not available from the Amazon store.
          Here is a link that shows step-by-step instructions to install MX Player.

            Once I download the MX Player, do I need to add it to KODI, IPTVXtra or just in apps?? and please tell me where the Userdate Directory is.
            Might there be an update to IPTVXtra II down the road?
            thanks

              Mxplayer just needs to installed in your apps. I dont have a FireStick, but I manually changed the playercorefactory.xml file using es file explorer. I would think you can do the same on a fire stick.

                I just downloaded MX player and switched over to external player. Still unsure where I change the XML file. I'm guessing it's in the IPTVxtra app and then reinstall it in kodi?

                  android>data>org.xbmc.kodi>files>kodi>addons>plugi n.video.iptvxtra2>resources>advanced settings>playercorefactory.xml

                  Might be a little different with a FireStick, but once you find the playercorefactory.xml file, just need to edit that file

                      You dont need to reinstall IPTVXtra after you edit that file.

                        I was unable to edit the XML file on my Android so I did it in the IPTVxtra 2 file and then installed that into Kodi but I still can't get it to work. It looks like it wants to work but I have MX player pro? Should that just be the regular MX player?

                          Yes MXPlayerfree otherwise you can use Pro, but you have to edit the file (MX Player Pro and VLC are both listed in the file), but you have to specify which to use in the settings in the file.

                          I am posting an update (IPTVXtra2 version 16.6) with the edited file.

                              I don't understand why would one want to use Kodi, Firestick or any of the other players whereas it's so much easier to get a BuzzTV and submit the donation info and ta da! Can anyone tell me what are the advantages of these?
