  • New Mag256 Firmware dated Feb 2017 issue with channels

Hopefully the support Team can figure out how to fix it on there server. until then people who are having an issue watching many channels, Here is how you can fix.

The latest firmware dated February 2017 is having an issue with many channels but NOT on all.

i noticed after I started the mag256 after sometime as i was using mag254, the firmware got updated to dated Feb 2017 and after that when the box rebooted, many channels just stop loading and not able to come online.

some of them I watched before and after are following

    200 cnn
    209 msnbc

I didn't test a lot so not sure what else stop working after latest upgrade.

others such as following are fine before and after
    RT, CNBC

    FIX

    Download the imageupdate file ONLY

    http://soft.infomir.com.ua/mag256/release/0.2.20-a7.7/

Using a USB flash drive in the embedded portal

Create directory mag256 on the USB-drive and place file imageupdate into directory.
Go to “System settings” by pressing «Setup», «Services» or «SET» on the remote control (depending on the version the remote control)
    Select “Software update”.
Select update “From USB” ? “Start update”. If the preceding items are correct you will see a window with information about the current software version, select the drive or partition and the file path.
Select “Verify”. If the test is successful you'll see information about the availability of new versions of software.
Select “Start update” to begin the update.
After the update successful - STB must be rebooted.

ISSUE: the fix is ONLY as long as the next reboot of BOX, if you have to reboot the BOX it will check and update the image to latest and you will end up redo the upgrade mentioned again. I haven't figure out (if there is any) way to disabled the upgrade.

In MAG254 you can disable the autoupdate by going to the inner portal menu, settings, software autoupdate>disable or enable with confirmation
perhaps in MAG 256 is maybe the same
