  • MXQ Pro 4K Android Box

Hey guys I purchased one of these V S905W with Android 7.1 and it started freezing right outta the box. Would cost me more to return it so i was trying to figure out if there was anything I can do to correct freezing. It didn't come with any apps installed just stock firmware. I contacted the store purchased from and they suggested doing a factory reset but this did not help. I also tried reloading the 7.1 firmware but this didn't even stop the freezing. I wanted to put iptv on it but it would freeze like 5-10 mins after powering it on and i would have to unplug and replug to get it functional again only to have this cycle repeated. Do I dump this box or is there some hope for it? Thanks

if you are not streaming, what is freezing?
If you are using Kodi, turn off Video Accelerators, as they won't work and slow things down trying to.

Most app require separate codecs to watch 1080.

Check the Display Resolution setting of the STB.
If set to auto sense the Resolution of the TV, and if your TV Auto senses the resolution of the HDMI signal, your box may get set to 50hz instead of 60.
Or it might even set itself to PAL instead of NTSC.
Of course if you are in Europe where 50hz refresh is used, I am not sure the proper setup.
          *Just something to check!
If this is happening, set STB to 1920x1080 -60 or 30 (not auto)
