  • Channel Guide EPG

    I made the change in PVR Simple Client to change the 'kens_xml" to "ks_xml" and the channels shown are in diffferent places but OK. Am I getting all the live channels? I read on the forum that HD channels are in the 9000 range. I'm confused.

    If you are using a remote Playlist URL link, generated for you on your Donation page, you will not have relatable channel numbering.
    IPTV Simple PVR Client numbers the channels sequentially starting at 1 as they are listed in the m3u playlist.

    If you made a Playlist with a renumbered Template, any additions or changes made to the Server master playlist, will not be accessible until you get or make a new custom playlist.
    * (Download the Server playlist using a browser, open it with a text editor, find the channels you want, copy and add them to the end of your existing Playlist)

    If you are using IPTVXtra, the changes to the playlist will be incorporated (but the renumbering reference file may not be updated yet, so the channels are there but the channel #'s will be incorrect. * (You need to run the add-on, click "Clear Cache" (generate new token), then Click Auto-set the PVR).

    The only way to get the channels numbered properly from the Provider, is if you use the Stalker client in Kodi, use a MAG emulator, or a STB with a Stalker client (MAG's, Dreamlink's, Buzz's etc).
    * You also have to use a MAC# with your account.

    *I have not updated any Templates or the IPTVXtra reference file yet, since there are only approx. a dozen HD Channels added as of right now (6:45pm. est./ June 14).

    *Note: If you load the playlist from the Server URL link, the new channels start at 835 and end at 864 (but 8 of those are placeholders(no active channel)).

      Hello Every1
      I just setup KODI and the Potato TV addon as described in the tutorial.
      Channels are loading but so far I can not see any EPG yet.
      I havent try the other features because I would like to have the EPG issue fix before I keep testing other features.
      Any ideas?
      TIA

        I recommend IPTVXtra Video addon instead of PotatoTV as it will load an active EPG guide, renumber the Channels to reflect the Providers channel numbering, and include all new channel changes or additions.
        PotatoTv has not been updating his addon and many of the TV features are no longer active or are not capable of providing.

        But if you just want to get going now, you can change the guide source in the IPTV Simple PVR Settings, to my new guide.

        * Enter this URL in place of the one in the IPTV Simple PVR's EPG Guide XMLTV URL setting.
        Code:
        https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kens13/EPG/master/guide_ks.xml
        Here are the step required;

        * PotatoTV Users
        To change the guide source URL address;
        - Go to System Settings/ Add-ons/ My Add-ons/ PVR Clients/ PVR IPTV Simple Client
        - Click "Disable", then click "Configure"
        - Click "EPG Settings" button
        - Click in the "XMLTV URL" edit window
        - Change the URL to the new URL, then click "OK" to save the settings
        - "DO NOT ENABLE YET"
        - Go to System Settings/ PVR&LiveTV/
        Guide Tab - click "Clear Data" and confirm by clicking "Yes"
        General Tab - click "Clear Data" and confirm by clicking "Yes"
        - Go back to System Settings/ Add-ons/ My Add-ons/ PVR Clients/ PVR IPTV Simple Client
        - Click "Enable"

        Channels and Guide will reload

            Something is wrong in my setup. I use the same information on 2 boxes, using only one at a time. On the one (1) which I've been using for months I get all the channel, including porn and the NY Channels are in the 864-869 and porn 875-904. If I go to the IPTV section of the Addon, I see more HD channels but there are doubles, "Comedy Central East 107: and "Comedy Central East HD 107. The first 107, not HD is selectable.

            The second (2) is new. I thing configured the same as (1) because I restored a backup for it. The settins.xml is same. I get the local channels in the beginning of list and no porn channels.

            I don't care that the channel numbers are not same as broadcast. I prefer box (1). What do I have to change or what files have to be copied over?

            PS: IptvXTRA is more like box (2).

            .

              If you prefer the 1st unit, that would mean you dont want the new channels (HD's), dont care about channel numbering.
              ...So you just want the Porn!!!

              To Satisfy that temporarily until IPTVXtra is re-written, Use IPTVXtra and load Video Devil Addon.
              Here is my link to the Addon;
              Code:

                Actually I don''t really care about the porn. An experimenter, I'd like to find out how 2 boxes with same setup have different channels. IptvXTRA is easy to use and seems to have same channel list at my 2nd, new box.

                  PotatoTV has not been updated to reflect the new Channels added, or the Guide Sources.
