  • Going to try this Kodi thing again and have a few questions

First, have prices dropped to 25 usd per donation? I don't see much on the site about it, but if it's true I'll add another for Kodi. Second, is there some support for computer solutions? Third...When I tried this before, I got everything working but only got the non authenticated channels to play. I later read that this was because I was authenticating on my other 2 devices via MAC address and I could not tie an authentication using name and password on the same account. Is this true? Lastly, if I create a separate account and use it for my Kodi experiment, would the computer solution now work? Thanks!

Yes prices have dropped. What do you mean when you say computer solutions? And what did you set up in the past with Kodi?

That term is sometimes used in the satellite world for using a computer as opposed to a receiver in order to receive channels.. Anyways I mean setting up a computer using a program such as Kodi to receive IPTV. Seems like I used Kodi in conjunction with an "add on" by Kens. I worked fine except that I could not get channels that required authentication...that being most of them, especially the premium ones. I read somewhere here that if you were using the computer setup you needed username and password authentication only. However if you already had devices on your IPTV account that authenticated by MAC address, you couldn't add a device that authenticated via name/password. That's why the computer setup I had possibly didn't work correctly so far as receiving all channels. Hence I was going to add a new account for the computer setup independent of my devices that used MAC authentication. This would allow me to use password authentication. Thanks

After going back to Kodi Tutorials thread, it looks like Shooty released a later version add on that did address the MAC issue and according to what he says, will let you enter a MAC address via MAC mode. Haven't tried this, but if it's true it answers my question...or at least provides a work around.

OK...The MAC authentication addition to the IPTVXTRA add on never materialized as far as I see. However I did create another account independent of my device account that logs in via MAC address. By creating another independent account, I was able to log in with user name and password and IPTVXtra worked great and downloaded ALL channels, or at least 1300 according to count. This allowed me to run IPTV on my computer and big screen TV via Kodi. Thanks..hopes that helps anyone who can't get pay channels to download. Thanks!
