    How to Setup Perfect Player using my PP Settings Template File

    When you backup your settings in Perfect Player, it makes an encrypted file, the name consisting of the date and time, with a file extension of (.ppbck).
    Unknown to most, is that this is just a pk-zip file.
    If you take the file, for example; 202001221015.ppbck, and change the extension to; 202001221015.zip, you can then use WinZip(or any other Archive program), to open and extract the file contents.
    To reverse this process, you can take a modified settings file, compress it to a zip file, change the extension from .zip to .ppbck, and use it to quickly and easily setup Perfect Player, by using the "Restore Settings" function.

    The basic settings file consists of 1 file, settingsBackup.xml(mind the capital B).
    *Note FYI, If you save a bunch of favorite channels in PP, there will also be a favorites.xml file, included in the archive, but for this example, we only edit the main file.

    Below is my modified settingsBackup.xml Template.
    It includes /kens EPG as the Primary guide, and includes the Providers EPG as the Secondary(Yes, you get to use both guides at the same time).
    It has all the recommended settings Enabled, and is set to use the Graphite Theme(You can change any settings you want!).

    As with all my Templates, change the following terms with your Account info;
    >Find xdonation and replace all with your Donation#
    >Find xportal and replace all with your server portal (format is 1 of the selections below);
    *.tv is now .ru
    Code:
    p1.iptvprivateserver.tv
    p2.iptvprivateserver.tv
    p3.iptvprivateserver.tv
    p4.iptvprivateserver.tv
    p5.iptvprivateserver.tv
    p6.iptvprivateserver.tv
    Code:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?>

        They install PP from Google Play store, or other App store(s).
        You configure the settings file with the users account information and EPG sources.
        Save the settingsBackup.xml file,
        If using Windows OS, right click on the settings file and select Add to Archive.
        In the archive window, change archive name to something related to the user, then change archive format to ZIP.
        Click OK.
        A ZIP file will be made in the same directory. (username.zip).
        now right click the zip file, click Rename.
        Change username.zip to username.ppbck
        *You will get a warning re; changing extension. Disregard and confirm.
        Host that file and give a link to your customer, to download to his STB.

        Upon startup of PP, user goes to Settings/Default/Restore Settings.
        They select the file they downloaded.
        PP will restart with all setting configured.

        *you cannot save a configured App to a file for re-distribution easily!

              You right click and select "rename", but the highlighted text excludes the extension ( .zip ), since the general function is to rename a file, not change the file "type".
              You have to click after .zip, and backspace to remove "zip", then type "ppbck".
              You get a warning asking if you really want to change the extension etc. etc.
