perfect player on T1+

got me a t1+ and downloaded the perfect player, modified the may 2018 template and got all channels and epg times up at the top but no epg. the saved playlist still shows all catagories even after deleting them when i modified it. I can't get it to work like I did on the firestick. I disconnected the t1 and hooked up the firestick and I seem to have the same problem. all catagories and channels working but No epg

why do you need perfect player with the dreamlink t1plus

dont really need it unless you want a better epg that shows correct times...but you can also modify a playlist and remove the channel catagories you dont want etc..cant do that with dol

The default for the Guide is to "Hide the EPG Guide" ???

To Show EPG Guide;
At the left of the screen, (top of your channel list) is the Genre (All Channels, Movies etc.).
Click the little square icon to the right (Sub-Menu).
Click " EPG- Show EPG ".
*If it says Hide EPG, then it is another problem.

This may be a stupid question but, What guide source are you using?
(With DOL you use the Guide from the Provider, which is not available in PP)

If you are just setting up PP, did you enter a proper Guide source URL address?
Did you set the Guide settings to refresh the data at each Update (Program startup)?
Is your Android Date & Time settings correct?
*Seems like a lot of questions for someone asking a question !!!

I'm using Template TV Engl may2018.m3u.....i do get the epg downloaded and the channels are working....just no epg info...show epg is selected ...dol works fine i just like to edit my playlist which is why im trying pp..date n time are correct on android system

ok..I'm coming around to giving up on perfect player..bfore I do let me see If I got this right.
You use the URL link generated for you on your Donation Screen in (hxxp://xx.iptvprivateserver.tv:80/get.php?username=xxxxxxxxxxxx&password=xxxxxxx xxxxx&type=m3u_plus&output=ts) in Playlist 1....
and on EPG 1 use hxxtp://raw.githubusercontent.com/kens13/epg/master/guide_kens.xmlCorrect? If this is correct, I still dont get and epg..

So if you modify a playlist and save it as an m3u file, that will replace what you have on Playlist 1? and what would go on EPG1 after you replace the file on Playlist 1 with new m3u playlist?

Go here and find the link for English TV playlist m3u template (if you are english)
Copy the link and paste into a browser, and download.
Follow the instructions at top of Post.
Save the changed file as a text file, name it anything you want with the .m3u extension.
Use that file in Playlist 1 settings. (Instead of the url address, click the File folder Icon, then go to the directory with the new file and select the new file you modified.
Then for EPG 1 use

Click (enable) the XMLTV type button/ Set the refresh period to refresh at each update.

*Note - You can also download the VOD Template and modify as above. save it as anything .m3u. but differentiate it as VOD playlist
Enter that location as playlist 2 and make sure you click(enable) the VOD button

You switch between TV (PL#1) and VOD (PL#2) by clicking the Down Arrow Icon of the Main menu

thanks for responding kens, so when you save a modified playlist , you save it as a text document. do you change the Encoding? ANSI, Unicode, UTF-8? There is a drop down box next to the Save button

You save it in plain text format, but you put the .m3u extension with the file name (otherwise the program will append the .txt extension).
It is UTF-8 encoding.

thanks kens...I used the viper 8690 template but I noticed that it won't populate with its related guide source. I have to use your guide source, kens13, and then it will populate nicely. don't know if this will cause any technical problems later. but for now it works...let me know of anything related to this....and Thank You for your superior knowldege with Perfect Player and your exceptional patience with newbies like me

The 1st one is only for kodi users.
You would want the 2nd (TV-English) and 4th (VOD Movies - English)
Use the TV list in Playlist1
Use the VOD list in Playlist2 (Check the VOD button (Enable it)
*Switch between the 2 playlist by clicking the Down arrow Icon (see post 5 above)
To see the movie cover logo, you need to go to the sub menu and click show extra info (like the epg's show /hide)
