  • Freezing improved, but now looping.

I seem to have the impression that freezing has significantly improved over the last several weeks, at least on my portal and the channels I regularly watch. However, there seems to be more looping than there used to be. Anyone know why ? Also, just out of curiousity, could some someone offer a reasonable explanation of exactly what causes looping, where the same scene is repeated over and over again ? It's really quite bizarre. Thanks.

Something changed (for the worst for me) and serious freezing (ch 156, 140, 185, 107) after yesterday's (Thursday) great improvement!...just saying!

When there is a problem or loss of signal from the Source into the frontend of the system, instead of the Server not connecting you when you select the channel, it seems now it connects you, but plays out the Channel Buffer, over and over until the source is re-established.

It gives the appearance that there is no problems with the channels when surfing.
      (but pisses me off more!!)

Thanks for the response. Your explanation seems to make a lot of sense. Hopefully they'll find some solutions to these problems. At any particular point in time, there seems to be a fair number of dead or unviewable channels. Also, don't you think it's time for them to put CNN and MSNBC back in their original locations in the 200's block ? Thanks again.
