NTP Pool Timeservers Use of Alternate Server to offset Guide Errors

I Posted this info awhile ago, but I guess it did not deserve to be a sticky
here is the info again;

NTP Pool Timeservers
I am wondering if anyone has tried this, or if it may result in a workaround Fix for the MAG / DL (Stalker) EPG guide offset problem.
I figure if it does work, the STB Time will be off, but the EPG guide data will be correct.
I do not have any of these Units, so if someone can try this and feedback the results. /Thank You

When setting up the MAG unit, the NTP server is usually entered as "pool.ntp.org".
This will search for the closest time server and save the closest servers to your location.
You cannot adjust the Timezone as it is automatic.
You can though, enter a timeserver from another country or zone, that is offset time wise, of your guide data.
The format URL is "xx.pool.ntp.org" where the xx is the country or region.

I saw you post this long ago. I havent used either of these in many moons! But i know the mag254 did give you the option to input the pool.ntp.org in the settings. I dont recall seeing that anywhere in the DL T1 or t2.

worked for me..used detroit for home town..us.pool.ntp.org..i am a happy camper now...thanx kens

Worked for me too. I'm on the east coast and had to use Alaska to epg corrected. No this did not work!
