  • Mag 245 not recognized

Sorry It's a Mag 254.. Was watching a movie when it froze. Unplugged the box waited a few seconds and plugged it back in. The blue light on the box showed power but the TV doesn't recognise the box is plugged in anymore? I tried it on another TV and it says no signal? Any advise would be appreciated?

    Thanks.

hold down the 3 dot 3 line button and keep holding while unplugging the replugging in the box. a blue menu will appear. you will see the video mode there. change it to what you need. but don't forget to exit save it

You need to hold that button while the mag is booting up. Unplug the mag, hold that button and plug the mag in while pointing the remote at the mag. That should bring up the bios menu. Make sure the tv is on the correct input.

Thanks Nightmare.. Yeah tried that. The blue light is still on the box so there is power to the box. I will try it again when I get home. Maybe if I hold the button, plug it in, unplug it and then plug it in again.

Yup! Try that. Make sure the tv is on the correct input as well or you obviously wont see the bios menu.

Thanks again. Just tried it a bunch of times.. pressed the button with the there dots and lines before booting up the box. Held it for a minute. Nothing. Tried to plug it and plug it back again while holding the button down. Still nothing. Tried the same thing with AV instead of hdmi and nothing.

The button has to be pressed in while plugging it in and of course it has to be pointed at the stb.

Yes was doing that. Pressing the button while unplugging and plugging it in. Button was pressed and the red light on the remote power was flashing the whole time.

If you are sure you have tried to reach the bios menu using every ones input from this thread, then that mag might have taken a sh*t! I would try a few more times before i tossed it though.

Maybe try with the Hdmi unplugged.Unplug the hdmi and reboot the box and let it load for a few mins. Then after that unplug it and plug hdmi cable back in and reboot it see if that does anything.
You are sure the remote is working? does the blue light do anything when pushing the remote buttons?Other then checking theses few other things.I'm all out of ideas.
