  • favorites and Buffer Setting

When in EPG I try to set up channels in a group called favorites.
In EPG I press the Blue button to add to favorites. This does not work. I click OK and have channel
viewed full screen. I press Blue button to add to Favorites. This does not work either.

Second question. I noticed in the colored button choice , there is a button now for Buffer.
I click on it and it offers different lengths of time. What is this for and what should it be set for ?

    Thanks

Interesting which button did you use for the buffering menu??

Buffering is different then freezing - Without going into all of the possible causes of buffering issues -

Buffering is when you are viewing as an example a VOD movie and the picture stops on the screen and you will see loading and a round loading icon spinning in a circle. When the picture resumes it starts off at exactly where it left off and you do not lose any content. IFYOU ARE HAVING BUFFERING PROBLEMS IT USUALLY WILL REPEAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM -

Freezing on the other hand is when the picture stops and then after however long it takes the picture starts again however it starts where it would be if you had been watching it continuously or in other words anything from the start of the freeze to when it starts again is lost and you will not be viewing it.

If there is now a buffering menu with various times you can select and you are experiencing buffering issues as explained above it is possible that changing the buffering setting may help.

As far as anyone providing you with what length of time it should be set for there is NO ABSOLUTE AND IT MAY VARY FROM USER TO USER.JUST NOTE WHAT THE DEFAULT SETTING IS BEFORE CHANGING IT AND THEN THE BEST WAY WITH THIS IS TO EXPERIMENT BY METHODICALLY TRYING EACH SETTING AND THEN VIEWING THE SAME PROGRAM THAT WAS HAVING BUFFERING PROBLEMS AND SEE WHICH IF ANY SETTING REDUCES OR ELIMINATES THE PROBLEM

lol - thanks for the pics - obviously never paid too much attention to the on screen info as most of the time I use IKS for the live tv because for me it is much more stable due to the buffering issues - but I will try different time settings to see if it helps resolve the buffering problem.
